Review: Sleuths vs. Capone's

Sleuths came very highly recommended to us by several people and due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews on this site, we decided to check it out. We went really wanting to love it and have a fantastic time, but truth be told, we'd have to rate the evening, including food and entertainment, as "average" at best.
I imagine a lot probably depends on the actual mystery show presented. Ours was the "Lord Mansfield's Fox Hunt" show, and the setting and subject matter was not very interesting to us. The actors were not wearing individual mics and the ones suspended from the ceiling didn't seem to be turned up very high. Needless to say, that along with the "British" accents made it very difficult to hear/understand the dialogue.
Secondly the room was very cramped and it was difficult (and uncomfortable) to see the stage from where we were sitting. The food was "just okay" too, edible, but nothing memorable. All in all, I'd say at $50+ a person, the show is overpriced. You do get unlimited beverages (soft drinks, beer and wine) included in the price, but how much beer and wine can one drink in 2.5 hours to make it worth it? Don't answer that!
Now, I should mention that we went to Capone's Dinner Show the night before which was FABULOUS and by comparison completely blows Sleuth's away hands down! At $27 a person it is a much better value, which includes a 4-course dinner, beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic included, and a much livelier, funnier show with better trained performers who are wearing individual microphones!!
Perhaps a different Sleuth's performance would be better. I guess since so many other people seem to recommend it, I'd advise others that if they go to try a different performance than the Fox Hunt one. The Italian wedding one sounds like it?d be much more entertaining.
