Irish Mobsters Deserve Some Fun!

Sparkling four leaf cloverThis St. Patrick’s Day people all over the Central Florida area will be celebrating their Irish heritage. Even if they’re not Irish, they’ll celebrate. St. Patrick’s Day is a great opportunity (or should I say, excuse?) to party, celebrate and have fun, even if you don’t particularly look great in green!

There is quite a bit of history about Irish mobsters and gangs since the Irish Mob is one of the oldest organized crime groups in the United States. Of course, Al Capone and his Italian counterparts usually come to mind when popularizing the prohibition era. Irish gang members from that time consisted of “Big” Bill Dwyer (New York’s leading bootlegger during the early years of Prohibition), Owney “The Killer” Madden, Frank Costello, Jack “Legs” Diamond, “Little” Augie Pisano, Charles “Vannie” Higgins and the renegade mobster Vincent “Mad Dog” Coll. Aren’t their names fun to say out loud? Although initially successful in keeping their Italian rivals at bay, unstable leadership and fighting within their own gang proved their downfall. Too bad they couldn’t find other ways to have fun.

Irish or not, mobster or not; if you’re looking for a fun way to spend St. Patrick’s Day in Orlando, why not join Al and his gang for dinner and a show? At Capone’s holidays are always special, and St. Patrick’s Day is no exception. Capone’s dames and wise guys are VERY Irish friendly – how could they not be? They’ll save you a lot of ‘green’ at only $26.99 per adult ticket (with coupon or online). Talk about a pot of gold! This is a fabulous deal; it includes the show, dinner buffet, unlimited drinks (including alcohol), a dessert and an evening of fun and laughter.

Mobsters of all ages enjoy this Orlando dinner show and you will too. Can’t find a four leaf clover? Well, you’re still in luck, because Capone’s will make you feel like the luckiest Irish mobster of all. Have fun!

May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you wherever you go.

Swinging & Dining – Spring Training Style

Capone's wise guy swings a mean bat!Al’s wise guys love to get use of their baseball bats, and it’s a great time of the year to start swinging! Spring Training has returned, and we can head out to the ball park to catch our favorite team in training. If you’re an Astros or Braves fan, you’re in luck. The Braves train just up the road at Disney’s Wild World of Sports and the Astros are down the road the other direction from Capone’s at the Osceola County Stadium.

Most of the games are in the afternoon (1:00pm), just in time for lunch. (Brings an all new meaning to the term ‘dinner show’ doesn’t it?) In my opinion, there is nothing like a hot dog at the ball park. I rarely ever eat them anywhere else. I never crave them, but those dogs are the first thing I order when I go to a game – shortly followed by the peanuts (around the 7th inning). This type of dining in Orlando is not exactly my first choice of cuisine, but this American tradition is part of the entire Spring Training experience.

The Osceola County Stadium offers an all you can eat ticket for some of the games for $24 per person. It includes: 1 outfield reserve seat, hotdogs, popcorn, nachos, sodas and bottled water. Not bad! The Champion Club at Disney is a little more pricey ($90/individual), but ends up being a decent deal if you have 10 people in your group. It includes: a traditional ballpark-style buffet and limited beverages in a private, tented area on the 1st base patio. The buffet offers different food as the game progresses consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, pretzels, Cracker Jacks, cookies, brownies, popcorn, roasted peanuts, tea and lemonade. This group package includes ten reserved game tickets (game bleacher level). The cost starts at $750 (for 10 people).

Whether you go for the buffet packages or just a snack, most of the games are over early enough to take in another ‘hit’ later in the evening. That would be our very own Capone’s Dinner & Show. You can’t beat the price either; only $26.99 for adults and $16.99 for kids (after coupon or online). With our delicious buffet, the meager hot dog and peanuts at the park, will soon be replaced by a belly full of American/Italian cuisine, hot off the buffet. You don’t have to pay extra for drinks or dessert either! We also have an ‘home run’ deal for groups!

Catch a ball at the game and later have a ball at our show. Spring Training + Capone’s = an excellent Spring day in the Kissimmee/Orlando area. Let’s get swingin’ and play ball!

Capone’s was also named one of the top 5 restaurants to visit while in the area for Spring Training! Read the rest of the story.

Capone’s Dinner & Show will be eighteen years old in August and it’s been a great run. Throughout the years they have constantly updated their theater. Back in 2007 Capone’s debuted a sequel to their original show and has been receiving rave reviews. In preparation for the new show, Capone’s purchased a new sound system, new lighting and new presidium and they spiffed up the theater.

Capone’s Dinner & Show is currently in the midst of its largest renovation in its history. The main floor of the theater is mostly finished. Upgrades include a revamped buffet, new tables, chairs and booths, gold faux paint added to the color scheme, new paint, as well as a completely renovated lobby & gift shop with new ‘period’ art work. The old place is looking good! Next project will be renovations to the balcony, which have already started. If you have not been to Capone’s Dinner & Show lately, you have to see the changes!

Capone’s Dinner & Show also upgraded the buffet and drink menu included in the ticket price.  Their claim has been providing the best value of all the Orlando dinner shows. They upgraded to Bud Light draft (only Dinner Show in Orlando to include premium beer), added 3 wine choices to fit every palate and they even offer 3 cocktail choices including Al’s original rum runner, vodka and cranberry and rum & cola (only Orlando dinner show to include cocktails). Their buffet added favorites such as pot roast, fettuccini Alfredo, macaroni & cheese, fresh roast turkey & dressing. A new chef joined the gang at Capone’s and has improved all of the menu items.  Also improved and expanded are the many choices of non alcoholic beverages which include fresh brewed iced tea, cranberry juice, fruit punch, kiddy cocktails, hot tea, coffee and the typical soda choices.

Capone’s is now offering two great deals on their web site50% off all regular price tickets and a bargain getaway starting at $79.99+tax. The Bargain Getaway includes one night at the AAA approved Quality Inn, 2 tickets to Capone’s Dinner & Show and complimentary breakfast. A reasonably priced private car service has been added too. It covers round trip transportation from all the tourism hot spots to Capone’s, including the Quality Inn located on lovely lake Cecile (partner in their bargain getaway deal) to Capone’s Dinner & Show starting at only $10.00 R/T for up to 4 people.

Visit Capone’s Dinner & Show for a fun musical, comedy adventure, set during the prohibition era. The gang at Capone’s loves to banter with their guests and guests often say that’s one of their favorite parts of the show. The show also includes some standup comedy. So what are you waiting for? Grab the gang and head to Capone’s…. your gonna have a blast!

After all, don’t you owe her a fun evening out?

Mother’s Day Treat

Mother’s Day isn’t too far away and if you are going to be vacationing in Central Florida, that may be all the “treat” your wife or mother expects to receive that Sunday. However, for the locals, as well as visiting guests, I would like to suggest a perfect treat for your mom – a dinner and a show. In particular, Capone’s Dinner & Show.

All too often families take mom out to dinner, give her a card and possibly flowers and call it a day. While that is nice and thoughtful, why not treat mom to an evening she’ll remember? Something different. An evening that is lively – fun – entertaining AND EVERYONE will enjoy! Plus, Mother’s Day at Capone’s Dinner & Show will cover the dinner and flower part of your gift for mom.

This year Capone’s is offering an early show (5:30 p.m.) and  late show (8.30 p.m.) a spectacular show on Mother’s Day (please check showtimes). This is great for families with young ones needing their sleep for school the next day, as well as the adults and families that stay up later, are on vacation, or enjoy the later dining option. The show is family friendly, so if you need to treat your mom, grandmother, wife and children, this is the show for you! Everyone will enjoy the singing, dancing, drama, action and comedy of Capone’s show. You’ll enjoy the price too!

While both shows are fairly inexpensive, Capone’s is offering a deeply discounted adult ticket for the 8:30 show. Only $34.99 per adult (plus tax). Even if you want to attend the early show on Mother’s Day, you can download Capone’s coupon and the cost is only $34.99 per adult. Kids tickets are even less ($22.99)! Moms will receive a flower on Mother’s Day along with their show ticket and also includes their delicious dinner buffet, all-you-can-drink variety of beverages and dessert.

It’s an incredible price when you think of how expensive just a nice dinner out can be in Orlando. You’re getting dinner AND a show for about the same price! Plus all of the extras!! For details, click this link. Once you are on their site, you can print the page out and place it into the mother’s day card that you give your mom or wife. You DO plan on getting a card for her, right?!

Reservations are filling up fast, so don’t delay. Call 1-800-220-8428 to make your reservation. Treat your mom to Capone’s Dinner & Show on Mother’s Day. It’s fun for everyone and will make a memorable night for mom and the entire gang.
