Now that the children are back to school, it is time to get back to learning as a family. There are so many fun things to do in Orlando, and even many fun ways to learn. This Sunday, there is a fun and inexpensive way to combine family-fun and learning!
The Orlando Science Center is bringing back it’s popular $5 admission day this Sunday, August 25th. From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. your family can make an entire day watching the films and viewing the many interesting (and educational) exhibits at the Orlando Science Center. This is a great bargain. Prices are usually set at $19 for adults and $13 for children 3-11. The discounted price event is presented in conjunction with Walmart. It’s hard to find another fun thing to do in Orlando at this price!
If you have young children, you’ll definitely want to see the exhibit “The Adventure With Clifford the Big Red Dog.” Everyone will love the life lessons this big figure can teach the little ones. Even parents and older children will enjoy a trip to Birdwell Island!
If you’re hesitant to take your child to see the Blue Man Group at Universal Studios, let them experience what the performers do everyday at the “Blue Man Group – Making Waves” exhibit. This multi-sensory opportunity brings play and fun together with music, sound and creative development. Children and parents will love learning together. Who knows, the next fun thing to do in Orlando with your family just might include an evening at the Blue Man Group show!
You also can take in “Our Planet, Our Universe” and discover the dynamic forces and systems that shape our Earth, as well as other planets and other information about our solar system. If dinosaurs interest your family, check out “Dino Digs” and examine fossil replicas of many prehistoric creatures. Building something may not seem like such a fun thing to do in Orlando over the weekend, but if you visit “Engineer It!” at the Orlando Science Center, you and your kids will surely enjoy imagining an infrastructure, creating it and improving it. Other exhibit halls include “Science Park,” “All Aboard,” “Kids Town” and “Nature Works.” There is something for every interest.
Walmart $5 Day at the Orlando Science Center makes this Sunday an excellent day to check out something that is really a fun thing to do in Orlando. Send your child off to school next week with a little extra knowledge. It may be a cheap thing to do in Orlando, but your children will not only have fun learning, they’ll also enjoy sharing their experience with classmates and teachers. What a bargain!
