Year-round Halloween at Capone’s (sort of)

There are many people that absolutely love Halloween. If you are one of those people, you should know Halloween at Capone’s happens year-round. Sort of. Here’s the rumble…

First, let’s make things clear. Halloween at Capone’s is celebrated only one night. However, many of the reasons this holiday is liked so much happen year-round at this Kissimmee dinner show. A few reasons for liking Halloween include:

  • free candy
  • excuse to party
  • opportunity to dress up and role-play
  • creative decorations
  • many other reasons

Halloween at Capone’s = An Original Outfit

Certainly, attending a dinner show is often thought of as a festive occasion. It isn’t something you do every night. And like any other festive occasion, the right clothes are very important. Capone’s Dinner & Show encourages people to ‘play-the-part’ and wear the ultimate “original outfit” – an outfit that fits the prohibition era. After all, we KNOW about outfits! Guests that dress up have more fun. Period. The original outfit is indeed a ritual for Halloween. It is also a ritual for many attending Capone’s any time of the year.

For example, here are just a few of the photos from guests dressing the part (photos submitted on Facebook):

Most importantly, wearing a costume allows people to let go of their inhibitions. Year-round Halloween at Capone’s does the same thing. Be that gangster or flapper girl and have fun pretending to be someone else. Moreover, wearing a costume can be extremely liberating! For some couples, it certainly offers a perfect time for romance. Need an excuse for a date night? Make reservations at Capone’s and come dressed for the occasion. Your girl will love that bad-boy gangster, and your guy will love that sexy kitten with the feather boa. It’s great for a date!

Halloween is an Excuse to Celebrate

Likewise, Halloween is a great excuse to party and celebrate. Have an anniversary? How about a birthday? Family reunion?  It doesn’t have to be Halloween at Capone’s to celebrate it! At Capone’s every night is a celebration. We recognize special occasions and various milestones and enjoy playing a part in whatever our guests are celebrating. Therefore, you need to let us know in advance. We advise including the celebration details in your order at the time you make your reservation as well as a follow-up call to our box office. Something this big should not be missed!

Free Prizes

Consequently, on the night of Halloween at Capone’s, you won’t receive a bag of candy, but there are prizes. On October 31st, every adult guest receives a special gift and kids get a gangster hat to wear. However, every night of the year the gangster give-away hands out numerous prizes. Guests feel like it is trick-or-treating every night of the year. Some win the treat, and some do not. What is the trick to winning a prize? Attend the show and discover it for yourself.

Have a Historic Halloween

Halloween goes back to an ancient Celtic custom. The tradition of Halloween came to the United States in 1840, with the arrival of a group of Irish immigrants. From there it slowly evolved into our modern-day version. The history of Halloween is quite interesting, and you may want to read all about it (click the link).

Finally, if the prohibition era is appealing to you, Halloween at Capone’s is the place to be any day of the year. Make a historic visit to Capone’s theater. You’ll swear you’ve stepped back in time. Play the role and get into the act. You’ll have a blast and your visit will be a treat you’ll remember for years to come.

Halloween Alternative – Capone’s Dinner & Show

Are you a person that does NOT like to be scared? What should you do as a Halloween alternative? Halloween has become a huge event in Orlando. Every theme park offers costume events or terror-related experiences. I get scared just driving down I-4, so I would much rather skip this holiday and find a fun Halloween alternative!

Scary Things to do in Orlando & Nearby

There are plenty of scary things to do, other than events at the theme parks. Just up the road, in Cassadaga are all types of spiritual encounters. Did you know that there are several haunted places in and around Orlando? There are several tour companies that will guide you through various haunted places in Orlando, Kissimmee, Tampa and Ybor City. There is even a cemetery that offers tours that can raise the hair on the back of your neck. Furthermore, if you are interested in weird, spooky experiences, check out Spook Hill in Lake Wales. Even the old abandoned KSC Launch Pad of Apollo 1 is believed to be haunted by ghosts of three astronauts who lost their lives in a tragic fire.

Additionally, haunted houses are plenty around town. Check out this map of haunted houses in Orlando. Want to sleep with ghosts? Make reservations at any of these three hotels in Orlando where guests have reported seeing ghosts:

  • Crowne Plaza – vague reports of a ghostly entity inhabiting room 621.
  • Super 8 International Drive – room 206 has long been considered a haunted hot-spot in this Orlando hotel.
  • Peabody Hotel (rebranded to Hyatt) – built in 1986, there are claims that a number of people have committed suicide in the building over the years, and that their spirits can sometimes be seen roaming the hallways.

Halloween Alternatives That are Not Scary

Halloween alternatives are events that are not scary, but still Halloween-related. You can participate in several 5K runs and walks scheduled for this weekend. Runners and walkers will be in costume. They contribute to charities that really need our support. Then there are costume contests you can find in nearly every neighborhood, town and county. There are even costume contests for pets! Another Halloween alternative involves trick-or-treating in shopping centers and malls. Fun and safe for your children, with an added benefit of getting a jump on your holiday shopping!

Best Halloween Alternative That Has Nothing to do with Halloween

Halloween Alternative - Capone's Dinner & Show

If you avoid frights whenever possible, Halloween is a great opportunity to check out an Orlando dinner show. There are several to choose from, but the best value is Capone’s Dinner & Show. Instead of a sinking feeling in your stomach from the result of pure terror, your belly may jiggle from all of the laughter. It’s fun. Not frightful. I think there are a lot of folks out there like me, who’d rather skip the candy handouts and tricks being played upon them. Instead, enjoy an evening out celebrating an era of our history when prohibition (not witches) ruled.

What a Treat!

At Capone’s Dinner & Show, you can purchase your tickets in advance and receive 50% off. Besides being fun, it is the best value of all the Orlando dinner shows. If you decide to take in the show on Halloween night, you’ll even get a treat to take home (not the candy-kind either). No tricks involved! You may have to skip the sweets after you hit the delicious dinner buffet. Dessert is offered…if you have room! The drinks will keep coming all evening too. The wait staff work very hard to accommodate every guest, even if they do have that ‘made’ attitude. It’s all part of the act, so loosen up and enjoy!

Al and the gang want to remind you that costume accessories are available in the Gift Shop. Need a fedora? How about a flapper headband or boa? Stop by if you are in need of gangster costume ideas! Better yet, come see the show and experience how to get into the era!

Finally, Capone’s is a great Halloween alternative in Orlando. Kids enjoy it too, but you may have a hard time getting them to a dinner theatre on Halloween night. Good news is, Capone’s is open every night of the year, so bring the kids some other evening. On October 31st, turn off your porch lights and come to Capone’s. They’ll have a treat waiting for you and promise not to scare you away!
