Orlando Attraction Planning for the Animal Enthusiast

With many attractions available in the Disney World areas, any Orlando attraction vacation planning should be done before arrival. Planning includes reviewing different attractions to discover what each Orlando theme park offers. Visiting Animal Kingdom theme park is a must. Though, designed for younger children, the older children enjoy it too, as well as any animal enthusiast. Riding through the Kilimanjaro Safari to see wild animals is thrilling.

Viewing the animals first thing in the morning is best. Visits during cooler weather will make it possible to spot animals. The animals, becoming hotter throughout the day, will start looking for shadier areas; making them less visible.

Animal Kingdom Tree of Life Photo

Since viewing is easier in the mornings, it only makes since for each day at Disney World would begin here also. If you want to have Goofy, Pluto and Minnie greet you for the day; they will meet you in the Tree of Life area. Just walk through the turnstiles to the tree, and every morning, 15 minutes before the parks scheduled opening time, this will happen. Afterwards, Mickey will be seen getting on the truck allowing everyone there to follow him into the Orlando attraction.

A must-see show, which is located inside the Animal Kingdom theme park, is Finding Nemo – The Musical. Creating a musical event for the parks from a non-musical movie made this addition another first for Disneyland. This Orlando attraction immensely engages audience members; taking them back to a movie that is performed by the singing characters guests know and love. Through the use of dancers, acrobats, puppets and animated backdrops, giant Nemo, Dory and Marlin share the story about their trip to Sydney and back in order to save Nemos’ dad.

Another musical, based on an original Disney animation, is Festival of the Lion King, based on The Lion King. This show is a favorite, must-see, among all ages. An air-conditioned, octagonal theatre sets the scene that allows you to become immersed in the show. The enthusiastic performers, adorned in beautiful pageant style costumes, are able to take you into their world, forgetting all your troubles; at least for the 28 minutes the show lasts. The classic story is performed with acrobatic production while each song, made famous from the movie, and the costumes become more colorful as the scenes change. The less waiting timed shows are early morning and in the evening. Scheduling your Disney World trip can have you waiting less time in lines.

Start your magical vacation in the beautiful Orlando attraction, Animal Kingdom. Remember, Capone’s Dinner & Show is just minutes away from this Orlando theme park. So after your visit with the animals, join Al and the gang for dinner. It’s fun for the entire family!

Orlando Theme Park – Fantasyland Expansion Update

Little Mermaid Orlando attraction

Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World recently expanded the “New Fantasyland” with many features now open. We last covered this topic  in March of last year. Since then more Disney characters and themed areas have opened to guests at this Orlando theme park.

The Enchanted Forest features some of our favorite Disney characters from The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Feast in the castles and taverns and enjoy meeting characters, getting autographs and having your picture taken with Ariel. Relive her tale of finding true love as well as legs! The undersea journey and beyond will expose you to all of the characters – Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, Flounder, Scuttle, King Triton, as well as Ursula, the sea witch who stands at 7.5 feet tall and 12 feet wide!

The other Fantasyland area that is opened is Storybook Circus. It transports guests to another era where the colorful big-top tents feature characters performing astonishing stunts and majestic animals are just part of the spectacular entertainment. The Dumbo ride is now complete and with 2 rides, so there is twice the fun. If you like trains, this is the Orlando theme park for you! The Walt Disney World Railroad and the Fantasyland Train Station provide stops throughout the attraction.

Another train that will be coming around the bend in the future at this Orlando theme park is the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. This attraction and the Princess Fairytale Hall are scheduled to open in 2013. If you cannot wait that long to experience Fanstasyland, check out the interactive online experience from your own home! If you can break the curse, you’ll be able to experience mermaids singing, beauties telling tales, beasts that roar and elephants that can fly.

Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom is a few miles from Capone’s Dinner & Show. With so many theme parks and Orlando dinner shows to choose from, a perfect vacation combination would be to experience them both! Multi-day park passes permit visitors to enjoy many days and evenings at the attractions. Pick one evening, skip the theme parks and enjoy Capone’s. Online tickets are half price, and the fun is no fantasy. Your entire gang will enjoy this one!

Orlando Attraction Offers Florida Discount

Throughout the year Orlando Attractions offer Florida residents discounts on admission into their theme parks. Now through March 31, 2013 Gatorland is offering $9.99 admission per person if you have a valid Florida license. This takes $15 off the regular adult admission cost! No matter what age, the cost is only $9.99. A family of four can visit Gatorland for about half the cost of one adult ticket at one of the other larger Orlando theme parks!

Gatorland has grown in the past few years, so if you haven’t visited this Orlando attraction lately, you should. The most exciting expansion is their zip line experiences. These thrilling adventures take you high above the park where the view is spectacular. Read more from an earlier post.

Egret photo from Orlando attractionAnother area that is increasing in popularity is Gatorland’s bird rookery. While it has been around since 1991, this alligator breeding marsh has grown into one of the largest and most accessible wading bird rookeries in Florida. Over 20 different species of birds can be seen here. Since some of these birds are endangered, Gatorland has set up a Photographer Pass program from February through June 16th. The cost runs from just $19.99 for a single day up to $99.99 for an entire year. Bird watching has grown into a huge business, and since Florida is located along many migration paths, Orlando attractions which feature bird sanctuaries are a magnet for bird watchers.

After your day at Gatorland, make your reservations to visit the Orlando attraction which doubles as a dinner show attractionCapone’s Dinner & Show. They offer a year-round Florida resident special of a free gift. The show at Capone’s is family-friendly and your entire flock (or gang) will enjoy it. The only birds you’ll see at this Orlando attraction are jail birds! They’re fun to watch though and will have you laughing like a kookaburra!

New Year’s Eve at Kissimmee Restaurants and Attractions

Happy New Year!

Dining on New Year’s Eve has become a celebration in itself. There are numerous Kissimmee restaurants to select from for this special occasion. Some people celebrate with a nice dinner out, only to return home to watch the ball drop on television before turning out the lights and beginning the New Year with a good nights’ sleep. Other folks, especially those here on vacation, want to ring in the New Year in a BIG way.

If dining out and returning home early is your plan, treat yourself to a fine dining experience at one of the restaurants mentioned in this previous post. Other family restaurants in Kissimmee can also be considered if you have children. One thing is certain, you must make your reservations or plans now. Even if reservations are not required, some planning will help the evening go smoother, especially if you have a large party or young children.

Tourists here on vacation can experience a New Year’s Eve celebration no matter which primary theme park they are visiting. Legoland has an early version for the youngsters. SeaWorld features music and fireworks as well as Universal, especially CityWalk and all of the Disney parks. Walt Disney World probably does it up the biggest with a different celebration at each theme park:  Magic Kingdom “Wishes” is at 8:30 p.m. and “Fantasy in the Sky” at 11:50 p.m. Epcot‘s “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” begins at 6:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “Fantasmic!” will be presented at 6:30 and 8 p.m., with “Lights! Camera! Happy New Year!” fireworks display at midnight. New Year’s Eve events are included with the purchase of all of these theme park tickets.

At Capone’s Dinner & Show, there are two opportunities to celebrate on New Year’s Eve as well. The early show begins at 6:00 p.m. with plenty of time to return home to watch the ball drop. This Kissimmee restaurant is a favorite with families and offers a great deal with their half off coupon for the early show. The New Year’s Eve Gala beginning at 9:00 p.m. is for guests that want to ring in the New Year with a blast! The full price ticket (no coupons accepted) includes the buffet, unlimited beverages, a champagne toast at midnight, party favors, a midnight snack bar, D.J. and dancing into the wee hours of the New Year. Purchase your tickets (which insures your reservation) now for this Kissimmee restaurant holiday celebration. It is fun for the entire family and can be enjoyed by all ages, provided they want to stay up past midnight!

No matter how you plan to ring in the New Year, it goes without saying, don’t drink and drive. Many hotels in Kissimmee have restaurants as part of their location. These Kissimmee restaurants can be very enjoyable on a holiday such as New Year’s Eve. Have a few drinks and find your way back to your hotel room. Very safe. You can also program these local taxi service numbers into your cell phone: County Taxi – 407-397-9497 and Checker Cab – 407-846-8294 so when you go out (and drink without designating a non-drinking driver), you’ll have the number handy to call for a ride. They can provide service from any Kissimmee restaurant to your home or hotel. As in years past, AAA offers their Tow To Go in Florida on New Year’s Eve by calling 855-286-9246. You may have to wait awhile for their service, but it is a great alternative to a DUI.

However you plan to ring in the New Year, be safe. Enjoy the people you have in your life, and vow to make new friends and keep family close/closer. Begin the New Year with your resolutions ready, and let’s make 2013 a great year!

Orlando Theme Park Milestone

Prohibition ended on December 5, 1933 with the ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment (which repealed the Eighteenth Amendment). Last week marked its 79th anniversary without so much as a beer mug toast. However, this week marked a milestone at Universal Orlando in which many a toast were made. They weren’t celebrating the end of prohibition; they celebrated the sale of 5 million butterbeers! The nonalcoholic beverage featuring hints of butterscotch and shortbread made its debut when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened within the Orlando attraction in June of 2010.

Even if you are not a fan of beer, sweet drinks, or even Harry Potter, this is a must-try element to experience when visiting this Orlando theme park. Universal Orlando made the announcement on Wednesday, then gave away 1,000 foam-topped beverages to Island of Adventure guests. That’s a lot of butterbeer mustaches!

Here at Capone’s Dinner & Show, we are celebrating a milestone of our own. We are in our twentieth year of entertaining guests with our prohibition era speak-easy! Our new show is being performed nightly and showcases a cast of talented performers. These zany characters will delight your gang of all ages. It’s no wonder our show has been so successful and going strong for 20 years! It’s a blast!

We’ve pulled out the big guns for the all-new gangster shoot out. It is quickly becoming a fan favorite. Guests win prizes and really get into the excitement! You’ll have to experience it yourself while tipping a few drinks back and enjoying the dinner buffet at this Orlando attraction.

Butterbeer may be popular at the other Orlando theme park, but here at Capone’s Dinner & Show, the Shirley Temples and other kiddie cocktails are included with your ticket as well as a host of other beverages. Prohibition has been ratified; come thirsty when you come to Capone’s Dinner & Show. Let’s toast! Cheers!
