With a new 12,000 square foot expansion opening Saturday, Morse Museum of Art Opens\u00a0 is now offering Free admission through March 20th, 2011.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Even prior to this new expansion, the Morse Museum\u00a0 has been known as having one of the premier collections of Louis Comfort Tiffany\u2019s art glass. Tiffany was the creator of the worlds\u2019 best known and most duplicated styles of art glass. After this new expansion to the museum, The Morse Museum of Art will showcase the largest collection of Tiffany glass anywhere. The style is popular still today with many knock-offs available at stores from J.C. Penny\u2019s to high end galleries.<\/p>\n

Located on historic and nostalgic Park Avenue the Morse Museum has attained many pieces, and in fact, entire rooms from Tiffany\u2019s historic Long Island home Laurelton Hall. If you love Tiffany Glass take advantage of this free offer and discover the beauty of meticulously recreated rooms from Laurelton Hall which was lost to a fire. The new wing attempts to emulate key areas of the mansion including the dining room – originally an 1,800 square foot behemoth – now is showcased in over 800 square feet. The dining room features the original fire place, some of its furniture and of course many one-of-a-kind Tiffany art pieces from the original dining room. Re-creations also include the Daffodil Terrace, living room and reception hall. Tiffany Glass lovers will rejoice at this one-of-a-kind collection of the late artist’s works.<\/p>\n
