It was supposed to open in the Spring, but what the heck, summer is good for us!<\/p>\n<p>Freshwater Oasis is a tropical retreat which replaced a saltwater reef (that had been leaking) at Discovery Cove and is home to otters and marmosets in a rainforest setting. Sounds cool and refreshing, right? It is that, and more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alcapones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/freshwater-oasis.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4695\" title=\"freshwater-oasis\" src=\"https:\/\/alcapones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/freshwater-oasis.jpg\" alt=\"Freshwater Oasis\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alcapones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/freshwater-oasis.jpg 575w, https:\/\/alcapones.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/freshwater-oasis-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis section of the <strong>Orlando theme park<\/strong> is set up as trails filled with water. You can hike along these streams, wade through them, and at times, swim around in them. Explore the various trails and even relax on a secluded beach! Watch for the energetic marmosets as they busy themselves to the entertainment of the guests. All levels of swimmers will enjoy the water, as well as the Asian River Otters who swim near guests (in their own area separated by plexiglass). The tropical flooded terrace is a favorite stopping point for most guests. No matter where you turn, you\u2019ll find endless discoveries.<\/p>\n<h2>Freshwater Oasis joins the Grand Reef<\/h2>\n<p>Mostly known for their \u2018swim-with-the-dolphins program,\u2019 this new <strong>Freshwater Oasis<\/strong> joins the <a href=\"https:\/\/alcapones.com\/blog\/the-grand-reef-is-grand-2885\"><strong>Grand Reef<\/strong><\/a> in Discovery Cove\u2019s line up of all-day enjoyment. The price of admission is included in the admission ticket, however, the number of guests allowed into this section of the park is limited to 1,000 per day, so be sure to reserve your spot by calling 1-877-434-7268.<\/p>\n<p>Seasonal rates for Discovery Cove vary starting around $180, going up to over $300 (rates for Day Resort Package without dolphin swim experience and guests ages 3-5 start a little under $200). This may seem rather expensive, but a day in a tropical paradise, not to mention the wonderful memories you\u2019ll have, will be worth every penny.
