The Mall at Millenia is home to many designer stores. If designer clothes, shoes and such is what you are after, this is the mall to shop at. Stopping by the Florida Mall to do some shopping is convenient when you are in between trips to Orlando’s various theme parks with the family. Each pavilion is also themed to the country that they represent and features cast members that come from those countries. Wawa, Wow! Florida’s First Opens Today

The wise guys at Capone’s Dinner & Show want to warn you… If you are traveling on or near Central Florida Parkway today, specifically across from SeaWorld, you might notice a bit of excitement. This is the area where Florida’s first Wawa will open today. This new convenience store is just one of five in the Orlando area that will be opening in the next few weeks. This is good news for tourists, shoppers and for those in need of employment.

There are nearly 600 Wawa stores in the Northeast, and they employ 18,000 associates throughout portions of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. They offer a large fresh food selection, including Built-to-Order® Hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, the Sizzli® hot breakfast sandwich, quality dairy products and Wawa brand juices and teas. All Wawa stores feature a wide selection of ready-to-go salads and fresh fruits.

So if you’re needing to fill up the gas tank, or your stomach during the day, check out the new Wawa. The store is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank and will donate a portion of the profits from first week sales at this store and the others soon to open. They hope to raise $25,000.

Just don’t get too full at the Wawa. You’ll want to save plenty of room for our delicious Orlando dinner show at Capone’s Dinner & Show. You won’t have to eat your food on the go either. Fun fact: “Wawa” is a Native American word for the Canada Goose that was found in the Delaware Valley. You will see a goose used on Wawa’s corporate logo.

Santa’s Winter Wonderland & Village – Affordable Fun

Purchasing holiday gifts can certainly put a dint in your budget, especially if you have kids. If you are looking for an inexpensive afternoon or evening out, check out the 3rd Annual Santa’s Winter Wonderland and Village at Waterford Lakes Town Center. They offer free parking, free admission and free entertainment.  With a lot of great shopping in the area too!

This annual winter festival celebrating Christmas and the holiday season, includes Santa’s Workshop, holiday foods, unique European amusement rides decorated for the Christmas season, thousands of Christmas lights and hundreds of holiday displays. Here are some other highlights:

  • Children can visit Santa in his Workshop daily through December 23 (certain times).
  • Steel drums by “Splash” will perform seasonal music at Main Gate on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through December 18 (certain times).The Timber Creek Christmas Band will perform on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through December 18 (certain times).
  • Mariachi Tapatio will perform on Friday, December 30, through Monday, January 2 (certain times).
  • Joshua Moonshine, Performance Artist Trance Paint, will perform daily (certain times).
  • Bonanza Shooting Gallery and other family-friendly games and fair-type food concessions (no alcohol allowed or served).
  • Caricature artist.
  • Joyful holiday music played throughout Santa’s Workshop and Village.
  • Thousands of Christmas lights and hundreds of holiday displays.
  • 19 Christmas-themed midway rides from around the world

Every afternoon through December 31st the party starts up and the celebration begins. Your children will love the carnival rides, and having their photo taken with the mascots. Santa will also be available for photos on a limited basis (nominal fee). Purchase a daily wristband or fun card for the best value on the rides.

  • Daily Wristband: $15 for unlimited mechanical rides (all rides are subject to manufacturer’s height, age and weight restrictions).
  • Daily “FunCard”: Ride tickets are $1 each. All rides require 3 or more tickets per rider. The best “FunCard” deal is 40 tickets for $30.
  • Toys for Tots: Receive a “FunCard” with 2 free rides for every toy dropped off at Santa’s Workshop during hours of operation through December 15.
