Golfing in Central Florida
World-class golf is close to you wherever you are staying in Central Florida. One of the best-known and most expensive courses is at the Hyatt Grand Cypress in Lake Buena Vista. Shingle Creek is one of the area’s newer golf courses and very close to the heart of International Drive. Should you be in Orlando for a convention and want to hit some balls on a world-class course this is your most convenient choice. You can save some cash by golfing at sunrise or later in the afternoon. Ask for specials wherever you choose to go, because, as you read the list below, there is a lot of competition. This list does not cover every golf course in Central Florida. My suggestion is to ‘Google it’ and look for deals on lesser-known golf courses in Orlando. You can save a lot by choosing a course that is not in the tourism corridors but still within reasonable driving distance.
Orlando is probably best known in golfing circles for the Arnold Palmer Classic at Bay Hill – one of a few PGA tournaments in Central Florida. Yet many other PGA and LPGA events are held in the area. Florida’s golf resorts thrive on creating grand greens for guests, but that doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten the non-golfers. At many of the golf resorts, you will find exciting accommodations for the entire family.
