Spotlight: Pirate’s Dinner Adventure

Although we’d rather have visitors choose Capone’s Dinner Show over any other dinner theater, many guests attend multiple shows during their vacation. Therefore, we’d like to provide our ‘review’ of the other shows in the area. In this post we spotlight Pirate’s Dinner Adventure. We’ll give you our favorable comments – then at the bottom of the article, we’ll provide a few reasons why we think Capone’s may be your better choice – if you’re only attending one dinner show.

Ahoy Mate, check out the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure Show for a swashbuckling good time.  This interactive show has  comedy, romance, acrobatics, a hearty feast, and plenty of action!  The ‘stage’ is actually a fully-rigged pirate ship!

The fun starts even before the show begins as you enjoy The Kings Festival, where you get to take pictures with pirates and enjoy appetizers, as well as a full bar.  You can purchase souvenirs from the gift shop.  You can also customize your adventure by upgrading your package to the Governor’s VIP Lounge Experience in the beautifully decorated Treasure Trove. The Governor’s VIP lounge is perfect for private parties (birthday, anniversary and wedding) or any special event.
(Tip: book in advance as seating is limited in the Treasure Trove and tends to sell out.)

During the show, enjoy a delicious three-course feast as the reprehensible pirate, Sebastian the Black, has captured the beautiful Princess Anita, her court AND the audience.  Audience members get to participate, and there are parts for both adults and children alike.  Dinner includes a salad or soup, chicken or pork main dish, complete with sides, and a royal dessert.  A great time for the entire family!

After this delightful show, check out the after-show party, The Buccaneer Bash.  The perfect end to an evening of adventure, you can meet the pirate crew from the show and dance the night away at this 70s-style disco.

Purchase your tickets online for a special discount. Be sure to choose the Orlando, Florida location, not the Buena Park in California dinner show. This is their other location.

Another option for adults is Treasure Tavern; a separate, 18 and older show located within the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure complex.  This 2-hour show is filled with comedy, acrobatic acts, live music, dancing, fantastic dining, and plenty of rum!  You can enjoy the signature Rum Punch, free upon entry (to those over 21).   Opened in 2010, this new show is a wonderful getaway from the ordinary.

Now that you are a little more familiar with Pirates Dinner Adventure, wed like to share how Capones compares.

  • Parking is free at Capone’s – Pirate’s charges extra to park.
  • Pre-show drinks are far more expensive than Al’s Secret Hideaway Bar.
  • Free refills of your drink during the show have been noted as slow to come – our staff will keep your glasses full.
  • ALL of our drinks are included in the ticket price – even alcoholic drinks – and we offer more choices; Pirate’s charges extra for certain drinks.
  • Because we offer a buffet, our servers will not be interrupting the show – in fact, our wait staff often becomes part of the show!
  • Our buffet keeps the food HOT unlike plated food with servers trying to deliver hundreds of plates of food to the guests while still hot – many guests receive cold food at other dinner show restaurants.
  • Our souvenirs are reasonably priced with dozens of items under $5.
  • Seating allows a little more room than some dinner shows that cram as many guests on benches with limited elbow room.
  • Although Capone’s does not offer pre-show appetizers, many reviews claim the appetizers do nothing to contribute to a good experience at Pirates.
  • Capone’s upgraded the lighting and sound system in 2008 which has added to the overall experience – especially for our older guests.
  • Our theatre has undergone a renovation – beautiful and CLEAN – and still manages to keep the 1930’s charm.

Orlando’s Many Entertainment Options

Orlando has a pleathura of entertainment options beyond the major theme parks and smaller attractions like Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Fun Spot, Gatorland and Wonderworks. The theme parks are typicaly a full day of entertainment while the smaller attractions average about three hours of entertainment. Mostly they are daytime attractions and can leave your evenings free to enjoy some of Orlando’s evening entertainment of which there are plenty.

Universal Orlando has Blue Man Group at City Walk a very different kind of show and yes the characters are blue. Disney has La Nouba which is great if you enjoy amazing acrobatics. Either of these two options will probably not be appreciated by children and are the most costly of your evening entertainment choices.

Then there are the many dinner shows in Orlando which are definitly a better selection both for value and if you are traveling with children. Nightly Jousting at Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament, a tale of a princess in another show featuring fabulous horses is Arabian Nights Dinner Attraction, Sleuths offer murder mystery you be the detective shows and of course my favorite Capone’s Dinner and Show which is different then any other show in Orlando or any other tourist destination.

Only at Capone’s Dinner & Show can your gang mingle with mobsters and dames from the era of prohibition and speakeasies. From the time you enter our turn of the century ice cream parlor, go to the secret door, give your secret password to get into Al Capone’s Down Home Speakeasy and Cabaret your gonna have a blast. Only Capone’s Dinner & Show offers such great bang for your buck and is fun for all ages. We offer a huge dinner buffit with both Italian and American cuisine eat all you like. Al is such a generous guy he also includes Bud Light Draft, Al’s original rum runners, vodka and cranberry, merlot, chardonnay and white zinfandel wines. Al also includes the typical soda choices, fruit punch, fresh brewed iced tea and kiddy cocktails. Be sure and save room for Mama Capone’s sugary sweet dessert that’s also included. Yous should visit Al’s web site www.alcapones.com where there is a 50% off coupon!  Don’t be a dead beat come see the show that’s second to none now in our eightenth year of being Orlando’s best dinner show deal.

Saturday January 9th and the Weather is Frightful Today, Here’s some Ideas on how to Enjoy Your Day

If you’re in Orlando now on vacation you know that the weather is HORRIBLE we might actually get sleet or snow flurries. The unprecedented cold all over the country is some of the worst weather I have seen in my thirty five years of living in Orlando. This is only the third time the weather report has called for snow in my thirty five years here.

So what should a tourist who’s in Orlando right now do today? Theme parks and water parks are definitly not a good choice for today. The Orlando area luckily has many indoor options on ways to spend your day and night. Todays a great day to sleep in and get a later start I promise you the theme parks will be slow. If you can handle this weather though you’ll breeze through attraction lines.

Here are some alternative ideas if you don’t want to brave the cold, sleet and possibly even snow today. Obvious choices include indoor malls which the best two for tourists are Florida Mall and Millenia Mall. All the outlet malls are outdoors so that may not be such a good choice. Depending on if you have children and the ages of your children indoor things to do include bounce houses, indoor attractions such as Ripley’s Believe it or not,Wonderworks, indoor flea markets of which there are many(largest is Flea World in Sanford and it offers circus acts and is more of a real flea market then the ones in the tourist corridors), Wonder Works and Titanic the exhibition.

Great eveving options include dinner shows of which there are numerous ones in Orlando including Medieval Times, Arabian Nights, Sleuths, Pirates Dinner Adventure and Capone’s Dinner & Show. I’ve listed the most popular and indoor of the dinner shows. It’s a great way to spend an evening and depending upon which you pick can be fun for all ages. We at Capone’s Dinner & Show feel we meet that criterion the best. I advise getting on the phone soon because on days like today the dinner show option is popular and if you want reservations and good seats call early. Visit www.alcapones.com to discover more about our one of a kind dinner show.
