STK Orlando – Signature Dining in Disney Springs

As promised, STK Orlando is “just as much about the night out as it is about the food.” (Jonathan Segal, CEO of The One Group) Make no mistake, however, the food is exceptional. Now open in the Landing section of Disney Springs, the STK Orlando steakhouse changes your mind about what a steakhouse is.

The STK Orlando joins locations in Atlanta, Miami Beach, Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., London, Ibiza and Milan. Roll outs are planned for Denver, Dallas and Austin as well. By the end of this year, there will be 16 STK locations. The Orlando location is a 14,000-square-foot space with two floors including rooftop dining. Complete with several bars and a DJ, you’ll want to spend a full evening there.

STK Orlando Signature Dining

If you want an upscale dining experience, STK Orlando will deliver. The downstairs area features striking clean lines with white chairs and linens, dark contrasts and accent pieces and lighting that are very stunning. The upstairs indoor dining room may feel a little more relaxed, yet the setting is still very upscale with exceptional service. The patio dining (with a fire pit) offers a nice “urban” view of the newly vamped Disney Springs community. For dinner with a lot of conversation, either plan an early dinner or request upstairs seating. As the evening progresses, the downstairs area livens up with dancing and loud music. Your preference isn’t guaranteed with your reservation, but the staff will do their best.

STK Orlando Signature Dining

STK Orlando Menu

STK SteakBeing a steakhouse, STK Orlando doesn’t disappoint when it comes to delicious steaks. Other items on the menu including seafood, sandwiches and salads. Be prepared to order your complete meal at the start (except dessert). Choose your appetizer, main dish, sides and even cocktails to keep the meal progressing as only a signature restaurant can. The prices are high (easy to spend over $60 per person for dinner), but compared to other high-end steakhouses, they are in line. Feel free to split the “large” listings as you’ll have plenty to eat. Several sauces are also offered with your steak, and are fun to experiment with ($2 ea.), however, your steak will be flavorful without.

Side dishes are served family-style. Try their signature dishes. You won’t be disappointed. Dessert is also spectacular with several ice cream dishes, cake and cookie a-la-mode to choose from. If you are looking to split a dessert, try the Caramelia Layer Cake. STK also offers a kids menu and an extensive drink menu.

Dining Reservations

STK Orlando is open for lunch and dinner and is located at 1580 Buena Vista Dr, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. To make a reservation, call (407) 917-7440 or by calling the regular reservation phone number 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463) or make reservations online through the Disney website. It is a great way to spend an evening out in an upscale “city vibe” setting. Closing at 11pm, there are places to go to afterwards right there in Disney Springs if you aren’t ready for the evening to end.

If you have another evening to fill with a dining experience while you are in Orlando, make reservations for Capone’s Dinner & Show. Unlike STK, you can come as you are (this is not fine dining) and relax while our staff entertains as well as serves. The buffet is filling and best of all, very affordable. The entire family will love this dining attraction experience!

Spotlight: Tiffins Restaurant at Animal Kingdom

If you are looking for an excellent Orlando theme park restaurant, the newly opened Tiffins Restaurant is worth checking out.  It is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This restaurant offers a way to enjoy an art gallery, learn about far-away lands, share your own travels AND enjoy a wonderful meal. As with all of Disney’s creations, this restaurant has been planned right down to the smallest of details.

Tiffins is an Indian word for a lunchbox used by travelers or a mid-day meal. Fittingly, Tiffins restaurant is open for lunch (11:30am – 3:30pm) as well as dinner (4:00pm – 9:30pm). The 252-seat restaurant provides waterfront views with indoor and outdoor seating. It is located on Discovery Island within Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is divided into “galleries” or dining rooms that focus on far-away lands. These galleries contain artwork inspired by these lands. Some of the art helped create the Animal Kingdom theme park’s design. All of those details! The galleries include:

  • Asia  featuring the Trek Gallery (74 seats)
  • Africa featuring the Safari Gallery (64 seats)
  • Grand Gallery (114 seats) which pays homage to animal species that the Disney Conservation Fund works to protect.

The menu at Tiffins Restaurant focuses on cuisine from around the world. It offers something for everyone. Included are entrées of Berber-Spiced Lamb Chops, New York Strip Steaks, Beef Short Ribs, Berkshire Pork Tenderloin, Miso-glazed Black Cod, Grilled Head-on Shrimp and several others. The menu also has vegetarian choices. Try the Roasted Market Vegetable Curry with Quinoa, Zucchini and Lime Chutney.

While the food selections come from all over the world, the beverage menu focuses on Africa, Asia and South America. Many handcrafted cocktails and beers are offered as well as non-alcoholic beverages. These include lemonades, teas and coffees. The beverage program at Tiffins Restaurant is unique. “…we don’t have another one like it at Disney,” said Master Sommelier Brian Koziol, Food & Beverage Concept and Development director for Disney Parks & Resorts. “The program will focus on environmentality: producers that focus on sustainability, organic wines, and bio-dynamic viticulture.”

The Nomad Lounge

Be sure to check out the Nomad Lounge. Share your travel experiences with others. It is located adjacent to Tiffins Restaurant, nearer the water. Purchase a tag and write about your travel adventures. These tags help support the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund. Answer questions such as “what do you always do when traveling” or “what was your most adventurous moment?” In doing so, you’ll be adding to the interesting stories already being told at this new Disney dining experience. You can even dine on small bites at the Nomad Lounge without a reservation. There are 55 seats inside and 46 seats outside.

Because of all its features, this new signature restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is definitely a must-do restaurant attraction to experience. Reservations to Tiffins Restaurant can be made by calling (407) 939-5277. Or go to Disney’s website for more information.

Spotlight: Tutto Italia Restorante at Epcot

Tutto Italia Restorante at Epcot is an Italian Restaurant, so of course, the Wise Guys keep a close eye on such establishments. With so many  dining options at theme parks, it’s hard to decide where to eat (or to list them all – see this earlier post). This summer, Tutto’s has added a 3-course lunch menu. Therefore, you’ll have plenty of time to work up an appetite for a delicious dinner buffet menu at Capone’s Dinner & Show.

If you’ve never experienced the Tutto Italia Restorante, you’ll be impressed with an authentic classic Italian menu. Also impressive is the Old World elegance of the interior. Walls are covered with beautiful murals, and elegant chandeliers light the dark-wood booths. If it is nice outside, have lunch outside on the patio with views of the Italy Pavilion.

Tutto Italia Restorante Menu

A special 3-course lunch has been created by Chef Barcatta and his team for the summer – available through August 31. The cost is $27, plus tax/gratuity and includes a soft drink or tea, an appetizer, a main course and dessert. For appetizers, choose from Antipasto, Insalata Mista, Caprese or Minestrone. For the main course, select either Scaloppine di Pollo, Piletto di Sogliola, Caesar Salad or Spaghetti. Dessert options are Cannolo, Tiramisu or Gelati. I don’t think you can go wrong with any selection. Wine connoisseur will find a wide selection for a perfect pairing. If you want to stray from the 3-course menu, vegetarian and allergy-friendly menu options are available. They also have a hearty children’s menu.

Easy Dining Reservations

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

Let’s celebrate Cinco de Mayo right here in Central Florida! There are plenty of parties to go to, however, do you know what you are celebrating? For most Americans it is simply a good reason to party.

Many people think the annual celebration on May 5th is the Mexican Independence Day. However, Cinco de Mayo is actually the celebration commemorating the Mexican militia victory over the French army in the 1862 Battle of Puebla.  Still this day is a day to celebrate in Mexico, however, you don’t have to be Mexican to get into the party spirit. Besides, where else will you get a chance to wear that sombrero?

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a Margarita

Enjoy a margarita at one of the MANY celebrations scheduled May 5th.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Downtown Orlando

At Wall Street Plaza, an annual Cinco de Mayo street party will span a city block.  There will be Mexican food, party music (including Adam Moreno Project), and drinks including Mexican beer specials, margaritas and tequila shots.

Also in the downtown area is the City of Orlando Cinco de Mayo Street Party. From 4pm to 2am the street will be closed at 41 W. Church Street. Music & alcohol will be served with a $10 entry.

Just off the beaten path (and out of the ordinary) of downtown will be the Southern Nights Cinco de Mayo celebration starting at 9pm. It will feature a drag performance, drink specials and a performance by DJ DLux. It is free for 21 or older until 11 p.m. or with college ID until midnight and $5 afterwards and $5 for ages 18-20.

Southern Nights is located at 375 S. Bumby Ave., Orlando. Free for 21 or older until 11 p.m. or with college ID until midnight and $5 afterwards and $5 for ages 18-20.

Other Orlando Areas to Celebrate

Down the road from Capone’s Dinner & Show is Old Town in Kissimmee. The Cinco de Mayo celebration there will consist of a mariachi band, stilt walkers, authentic Mexican food, an interactive DJ and full-service outdoor bars. The party starts at 5 p.m. at 5770 Highway 17-92 in Kissimmee. There is a $10 admission.

In west Orlando, celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar. They will give away free tequila pouring and other giveaways in addition to their drink specials. The celebration will also feature performances by the Pancho Villas mariachi band, the Leonard Brothers and DJs. The party starts at noon at 7468 W. Sand Lake Road, Orlando.

At Pointe Orlando, the party will get started at 7pm at Howl at the Moon. The famous dueling pianos show along with drink specials are the highlight of this night. They are located at 8815 International Drive, Orlando.

In Metro West, you’ll find the celebration at the Teak Neighborhood Grill located at 6400 Times Square Ave., Orlando. A variety of food specials will go with their drink specials and the party starts early – 11:00am!

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Winter Park, Apopka, Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach

In Winter Park, check out Cocina 214 as they also celebrate their five-year anniversary. The fiesta will include drink specials and giveaways starting at 4pm. They are located at 151 E. Welbourne Ave., Winter Park.

In Apopka, go to the Northwest Recreation Complex for a cultural festival featuring music, folk dancing, food and children’s activities. This party is on Saturday at 3710 Jason Dwelley Parkway, Apopka. Admission is $5 adults, free for ages 12 and younger.

A great party and fun event will be held at the Daytona Beach Bandshell.  Here they will try to set a Guinness World Record with their parade of costumed chihuahuas! The fiesta will also include a mariachi band, food and prizes starting at noon on Saturday. The Bandshell is located at 70 Boardwalk, Daytona Beach. There is a $5 admission.

In New Smyrna Beach, the entire Flagler Avenue (Beachside) will be one big party. Several restaurants and bars celebrate Cinco de Mayo with food specials and drink specials. Nearly every location offers live music too. It is always a popular party and destination.

Of course, you can always skip the sombreros, tequila and mariachi bands for a night with the gang at Capone’s Dinner & Show. The show is hilarious and filled with loads of action – especially the gangster shoot out! With such a large buffet, you’ll be ready for a siesta. If not, it sounds like there are plenty of other late-night parties to go to if you still want to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Orlando.

Have a great time enjoying the festivities, but don’t forget to plan ahead for a designated driver or a cab….. drink responsibly.

Diviértase y Disfrute de la Celebración!

D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs Town Center

If you crave burgers and milkshakes while visiting our Lake Buena Vista paradise, D-Luxe Burger will soon have your fix. This Disney-owned and operated gourmet burger-and-shake joint opened in May of 2016 in the Town Center section of Disney Springs. The new Orlando restaurant is famous for it delicious gourmet burgers and twisted milkshakes. My mouth is watering.

D-Luxe Burger Menu

No matter what type of burger you enjoy, it appears that D-Luxe Burger will have one for you. Of course they’ll offer a traditional American Classic Cheeseburger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and a pickle. However, if you are ready to delight your taste buds, venture into some of their not-so-traditional flavor combinations. Here are some to consider when dining at D-Luxe Burger.

D-luxe Burger BBQ Burger

The D-luxe Barbecue Classic Burger ©Disney.

Barbecue Classic Burger is a gourmet beef patty topped with a fried onion ring, smoked Gouda cheese, bacon, lettuce and barbecue sauce.

El Diablo Burger is created from a chorizo-and-signature-blend patty and topped with fried banana peppers, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayonnaise.

Southern Classic Burger uses a gourmet beef patty featuring pimento cheese, lettuce, bacon and a Southern tradition of fried-green tomato.

The “Cluck” Burger is a ground chicken patty with a garlic herb sauce, avocado, lettuce and tomato.

Veggie Burger uses a non-beef house made patty and Tzatiki, green bean salad, lettuce and tomato.

In addition, no burger is complete without fries and something to wash it down with. At the new D-Luxe Burger your fresh-cut fries will be served with your choice of dipping sauces. Plus, you’ll have plenty of beverage choices.

Not Your Ordinary Milkshakes

Smoked Bourbon Milkshake

The Artisanal Gelato Shakes feature many different flavors including Vanilla, Chocolate, Raspberry, Strawberry, Salted Caramel, S’mores and Cake. Other floats available are Root Beer, Cherry Coke and orange. Additionally, sodas will be offered and beverages that adults will enjoy, such as draft beer, cider and “shakes with spirits.” The flavors include Smoked Bourbon and Beer (with a slice of crispy bacon as a garnish) and an alcohol shake made with Godiva Raspberry.

Burger Desserts?

What’s in store for dessert? Also keeping with the burger theme, D-Luxe Burger will be offering a Red Velvet Burger Macaron. Made to look “burger-like,” these sweet desserts will also delight your taste buds. All of the ingredients appear to be items you’d find on a classic hamburger, but are actually delicious sweet concoctions such as raspberry instead of ketchup.

If the wide selection of beverages is a plus for you, take note… There is one Orlando dinner show that offers more beverages (included in your ticket price) than any other. Capone’s Dinner & Show may not offer Gelato milkshakes, but you’ll find a wide variety of drinks on their menu. Alcoholic drinks, including beer, wine and Al’s famous Rum Runners are included in your ticket price. Additionally, tickets are half price when ordered online!

We’re excited that the D-Luxe Burger is a dining option at Disney Springs. There are plenty of other burger joints to choose from in Orlando, but I’d venture to guess that very few  (if any) offer this type of gourmet selection. This restaurant gives an all-new meaning to “Cheeseburger in paradise.”
