If it isn’t cold enough in Florida for your taste, there is a simple solution. No, it isn’t “go back where you came from!” We love our visitors from the North and enjoy sharing our warmer-than-there weather. If you’re looking for some cold fun though, we have it right here in Central Florida – ICE! at Gaylord Palms Resort – a limited-time attraction.
ICE! at Gaylord Palms this year features Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, over two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures, ice slides, and much more. At nine degrees, this is some COLD fun! For those of you that are 4 years old or older and at least 42” tall, you’re going to have a GREAT time! Bundle up and prepare to slide down the slippery and sometimes a bit bumpy slopes. This is a fun thing to do in Orlando that you won’t get to do very often.
The attraction is kept at 9° Fahrenheit. Be sure to dress appropriately: closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. Hooded winter coats are provided for your warmth and comfort inside the attraction and are available in a variety of sizes, including sizes for children. Hats and gloves are strongly recommended.
Prices for ICE! are:
Prices range from $19.99-$26.99/child (4-11) to $29.99-$39.99/adult (12+) for ICE! admission. Weekdays are less expensive than weekends. Tickets are only sold online in advance. Parking is additional (currently $30). The best offer is to purchase a bundle – silver or gold. These packages include several activities in one ticket. Separate ticketed items include:
- Ice Tubing
- Scavenger Hunt
- Snowball Build & Blast
- Gingerbread Decorating
- Elf Training Academy
- Mrs. Claus’ Christmas Traditions
Tickets are also available for:
- Cirque: Spirit of Christmas: A Broadway-style Christmas show featuring dazzling acrobatics, feats of flexibility, and high-flying stunts.
- The Greatest Story Stage Show: International storytellers tell the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in a musical stage show.
- Naughty or Nice Escape Room: Sneak into Santa’s office and solve the riddles and you’ll be able to erase your names from the Naughty List.
- Photos with Santa: Capture the moment with a keepsake photo.
- The Journey of Los Tres Reyes Magos Stage Show: The Three Kings Festival is told through story and song.
- Feast with the Grinch Character Breakfast: Join The Grinch and his dog Max for a buffet loaded with holiday flavor to savor.
Snow Tubing ICE! at Gaylord Palms
Where else in Orlando can you go snow tubing?! Ride the slides at ICE! and zoom down the snow-covered tubing hill at Snow Flow Mountain. This requires a separate ticket ($24.99/person). The best offer to experience this attraction is to purchase an all-day gold bundle. It includes ICE! featuring Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas™, Snow Flow Mountain, The Grinch’s Wonderful Awful Idea Scavenger Hunt, Snowball Build and Blast, Gingerbread Decorating, Elf Training Academy, and Mrs. Claus’ Christmas Traditions!
Christmas at Gaylord Palms also features millions of twinkling lights and an amazing Christmas tree. This vacation destination is a sight to behold during the holidays. The decorations and attention to detail are definitely worth a visit – even if you are not staying at this Marriott resort. Vacation packages are available, as well as Florida resident discounts and Marriott rewards specials. This link will get you special discount codes.
ICE! at Gaylord Palms will be available through January 1, 2023, so be sure to experience this limited-time Orlando attraction before it melts away. The temperatures will get colder in Central Florida as we head into the new year, but they will never get down to 9 degrees, so experience it while you can. Of course, some of you that are visiting will “go back where you came from,” and might experience even colder temperatures! For this, we’re sorry. 🙁 Enjoy the Sunshine State and ICE! while you’re here.
Capone’s Dinner & Show is just a short drive away from the Gaylord Palms Resort. Spend a few hours enjoying the ICE! attraction, then make plans to warm up with Al and the gang. This Orlando dinner show is fun for the entire family.
