The Wise Guys & Gals at Capone’s Dinner & Show have put together a holiday guide of restaurants in Kissimmee near shopping centers just in time for the busy shopping season. Black Friday is only hours away, plus, you know those Thanksgiving left-overs will be around for a few more meals, so why not visit a restaurant in Kissimmee while you’re out shopping?

You have a lot of choices, depending upon which shopping mall, center or holiday special you are planning to take advantage of. Even some Kissimmee restaurants are open 24 hours, so no matter how early or late the specials start, you’ll be able to fuel up for the long shopping season. Dine in or take out, you’ve burned off the calories shopping, so enjoy!

Beginning at the far west of Hwy. 192: Formosa Gardens Village is a newer development targeted toward the affluent and business traveler. In the shopping center you’ll find quick restaurants as well as some nice family dining restaurants, such as Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Giordano’s Italian Restaurant, Red Lobster and Outback. The kids will enjoy 36 holes of putt putt golf while you are shopping. If you’ve got a biker on your list, check out the Harley Davidson store; they have clothes, parts, accessories, collectibles, and of course, some really nice bikes!

Near Celebration: Who doesn’t like shopping at Old Town?  There are so many really cool stores. In fact, there are 75 shops and 8 restaurants with free parking, free admission and some fun rides. Keep the kids happy riding the rides while you shop, then get together to enjoy some fish and chips at the Blue Max Tavern or pizza at Flippers Pizzeria. Don’t forget dessert – hit the Old Time Ice Cream Co. – for a sweet time! By the way, Old Town has it’s very own Old Town Portrait Gallery, so get the clan together for one of those old time photos that you can cherish for years to come. A great gift!

On 192 towards downtown Kissimmee: Fort Liberty Town Shoppes (unfortunately only Subway has survived the recession at this shopping center), Poinciana Place (Smokey Bones, Asia Bagus, Burger King, China Pearl and Fish Chips & Beyond) and Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores (just off 192 with numerous stores) are small shopping centers that often pack a large punch, as in savings. The better shopping opportunities are in the factory stores, however, if a mall food court isn’t your type of dining, you may want to eat at a restaurant in Kissimmee further down the road.

Within the downtown Kissimmee area: In the heart of Kissimmee, there are plenty of shopping opportunities and the dining is great too. Osceola Square Mall has been a great ‘go-to’ place for years with several favorite stores for the bargain hunter. If you like Fish Tacos, you’re in luck, eat there. If you are shopping at OfficeMax across the way, you can’t go wrong with a meal from Outback or Osaka Japanese Steak House. There are a few other good stores at Vine Street Square. At Town Corral Shopping Center, you can pick up a few last minute items from the Dollar General, a bouquet from Kissimmee Florist, or ship your packages at the Pack and Ship. Your dining choices are Subway, PG’s Wings and Chirico Restaurant. Although there are no official shopping centers in downtown Kissimmee on Main Street, the shops are fun to explore and there are some great restaurants in Kissimmee located there.

If you venture out of the Kissimmee city limits, you’ll find plenty of other shopping opportunities. Read our shopping guide. If you are visiting the area’s attractions, we think you’ll find everything you need within a short drive. There may even be a great restaurant within walking distance of where you are staying. Dining is great here!

Of course we always invite you dine at our Kissimmee restaurant and see our nightly show at Capone’s Dinner & Show. If you live in the area, or return often, think about ordering a gift certificate to the show! Purchase them at half price and use them for yourself, give to a friend, or your entire gang. All you have to do then is call in your reservation for the evening you want to use the gift certificate(s). Give a gift of a fun evening of “dinnertainment!” Capone’s gift shop is also filled with fun, affordable souvenirs. So while you are out shopping this holiday season, stop by. Al & the gang would love to see you!
