Artwork like the event’s three signature pieces created by Joe Kaminski of the Yellow Shoes Creative Group will be a sample of the great pieces you’ll see this weekend at the Festival of the Masters.

From 10am to 5:30pm this Friday, Saturday & Sunday, you will be in for a treat if you spend some time at Downtown Disney. The annual Festival of the Masters is taking place and this one-of-a-kind festival is a treat for any art lover. There are a lot of activities going on for the entire family and many are free!

Today’s top artists will be showcasing their art in mediums such as painting, sculpture, print, drawing, jewelry, leather & wood, mixed media and collage, photography, glass work, and digital art. Most of this art will be showcased at Disney’s Westside and Pleasure Island. At the Marketplace, even chalk artists from The Central Florida Chalk Artists Association will create masterpieces on 3,000 square feet of sidewalks. You will also enjoy live music, specialty foods and family-friendly activities.

This year’s festival is sponsored by Michaels® and they will be offering several interactive activities to help cultivate your own creativity. Join the Michaels Design Team in a custom framing seminar, or learn how to create digital scrapbooks, friendship bracelets and more. They will also be sharing may other crafty ideas and tips for every age and interest.

Even though admission and parking are free, you’ll want to make sure you bring some money along to purchase some of the great artwork. Prices for the art range from $195 to $6,000. There will also be festival merchandise for sale including t-shirts, mugs, hats, bags, posters and more. Charity art when purchased will benefit the Red Chair Project, an organization that supports the arts in Central Florida. In addition to art, several restaurants at Downtown Disney will offer select food for purchase.

The Festival of the Masters is one of the nicest art shows in the Central Florida area. Take a few hours this weekend to enjoy it. For more information visit Disney’s website.
