Currently we know of a few Orlando dinner shows supporting charities. Does this appeal to guests? Are you more likely to purchase a dinner show ticket knowing a portion of the proceeds go towards a charity? It is rewarding to help others that are struggling with hunger, disease or in a less-than-fortunate situation. What a great way to start out the new year!

Current Charities Supported by Orlando Dinner Shows

Medieval Times supports charity

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is currently being supported by Medieval Times. The clever promotion #ChivalryInAction offers a discount of 40% off adult dinner show tickets and 25% off kids tickets with a donation of a non-perishable food item (one item per ticket). If purchasing tickets on the internet, you’ll need to use the code: FOODWEB16. The discount puts the tickets around $38/adult and $28/child (+ tax and processing fee). The offer expires on February 11, 2016.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to six Central Florida counties. Their mission is to create hope and nourish lives through a powerful hunger relief network, while multiplying the generosity of a caring community. They also offer adults a culinary training program to help them get better jobs within the food industry.

Orlando Dinner Shows Supporting Charities

Walk to Defeat ALS (The ALS Association) is currently being supported by Pirate’s Town Dinner Show Theaters, including Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, Treasure Tavern Dinner Theatre and The Three Musketeers (closed). When you purchase tickets from any of these Orlando dinner shows, $5 of every dinner show ticket will be donated to the ALS Association. The online code to ensure the charity benefits from your purchase is ALS16. This offer puts the tickets at $35/adult and $30/child (not available for Treasure Tavern), plus $3/person handling fee and tax. Gratuity is not included and this charitable opportunity expires February 29th, 2016.

The ALS Association is an American nonprofit organization that raises money for research and patient services, promotes awareness about and advocates in state and federal government on issues related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The Central Florida Walk will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Eola Park. Their goal is to raise $275,000.

NOTE: Big Al is very generous and has donated Orlando dinner show tickets to several charity functions over the years. While not all charities are supported, nor all requests granted, Capone’s Dinner & Show takes special interest in local charities and fund-raisers on a case-by-case basis.

Do Orlando Dinner Shows Supporting Charities Appeal to You?

Supporting a charity is a great feeling. If you are planning to attend an Orlando dinner show, and it just happens that a portion of your purchase will benefit others, it is a win-win for everyone. If you are a staunch supporter of a particular charity, you may even seek out every opportunity you can find to benefit that particular charity. It is even a better offer if you’ll be gaining something fun for yourself!

The question remains, however, does this affect your choice of one Orlando dinner show over another? If a portion of your ticket for one show benefits a charity and another one doesn’t, will you make reservations at the show that supports a charity? Feel free to share your thoughts by writing a comment on Al’s blog.
