There is a lot going on this weekend in Central Florida! It is one of the best times of the year to visit. The weather is great and the lines at the theme parks are a little shorter. In a few weeks the holidays will be upon us, so it may be one of the last weekends you can get out and enjoy all that Central Florida has to offer before your holiday shopping takes priority. Listed here are just a few of the fun things to do in Orlando this weekend:

November 5 – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – 9th Annual Orange County Family Fun Day at Jay Blanchard Park, 2451 N. Dean Road, Orlando, FL 32817. Enjoy a fun-filled day at the park with free admission!

November 5 & 6 – the 25th Annual Lake Mary-Heathrow Festival of the Arts. Read our original post for more information on this art festival.

November 5 & 6 – 41st Annual Fall Fiesta in the Park, Lake Eola Park, 195 N Rosalind Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801. One of Orlando’s original outdoor festivals, Fall Fiesta in the Park now enters its 41st year with over 400 original artists and crafters lining the streets of Downtown Orlando.  Enjoy one of the largest family entertainment areas around at the Nemours Childrens Area. Bounce houses, games, animals and activities are free for everyone. Make a day of it, bring the family and picnic basket, and kick off the fall season.

November 3 – 13 – The 67th annual Volusia County Fair & Youth Show at the Volusia County Fairgrounds, SR 44 and I-4, Deland, FL 32724. Enjoy a “Barnyard Beach Party” at this great county fair with general admission $8 adults, $5 children (6-12), under 5 are free. Included with gate admission is live music featuring Uncle Kracker (Sat. Nov. 5, 8pm); Chubby Checker (Tues. Nov. 8, 4 & 7pm) and Craig Campbell (Fri. Nov. 11, 8pm). The fair opens at 4 p.m. Nov. 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11; and at 11 a.m. Nov. 5, 6, 8, 12 and 13. The fair remains open until the midway closes, with the exception of Sunday, Nov. 13 when closing is at 9 p.m. Discounted admission tickets and ride bracelets are on sale now at Walgreens thru November 4th.

November 3 – 6 – Roscoe’s Chili Challenge, 5320 Shady Oak Dr N., Lakeland, FL 33810. If you’re out near Lakeland this weekend and have a hankerin’ for chili, you ought to check out this event for ADULTS only. I would describe this event as an “old time biker rally” and not for the shy or closed-minded individual. Parking for cages (anything but motorcycles) can get tricky, so expect to pay and walk. The best day to attend is Saturday when the chili cookoff takes place, as well as the bike games, out house drag races, arm wrestling and other wild and crazy events take place.

As always, Capone’s Dinner & Show offers something fun to do in Orlando for all ages. It is a great show to enjoy one evening – after the theme park, fair or festival. Come hungry. Your admission ticket includes the show as well as a dinner buffet and unlimited drinks! After walking around all day, you’ll love this chance to sit back, be entertained and end your day with a “feel good” experience!
