SeaWorld Orlando’s “Just for Kids” Festival  is set to begin this Saturday, March 22, 2014. It will continue every Saturday through April 12. This event adds four elements to your child’s Orlando theme park visit – all included in the ticket price!

  1. Rockin’ Rockhopper Party
  2. SEA Garden
  3. Ocean Adventures Kids Program
  4. Shamu Dance Party

You can arrive at the theme park when it opens at 9:00 a.m. and take a few hours to experience the attractions. Then at 11:00 a.m., “Just for Kids” activities get started with a Rockin’ Rockhopper Party and an Ocean Adventures Kids Program. These activities are not just for kids though. The entire family is encouraged to participate.

The Rockin’ Rockhopper Party takes place in Antarctica – Empire of The Penguin. There will be a Rock Hopper Ring Toss game and a Penguin Plunge. You may also enjoy snacks, face painting and “snow moments.” With any luck, your child will be able to meet Puck, the star of Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin ride.

Also beginning at 11:00 a.m. is the Ocean Adventures Kids Program. This is a great educational program in which your child will collect cards at four locations within the Orlando theme park. Look for Sea Star icons. Once you find one, your child can add a stamp to their Explorer card. At each location there are educational activities to get involved in. Once you have each stamp/location complete, your child will receive a coupon to exchange at a gift shop for a special prize! Only one prize per child.

Throughout the day, you and your child can visit the SEA Garden. Here you’ll learn how SeaWorld cares for many animals and get to see them up close. If your child enjoys this experience, you’ll want to check out seaworldkids.com if you haven’t already. The web site is geared towards learning and is fun for parents as well. The SEA Garden is located near the Nautilus Theatre. This is also a good place to try to catch the prize patrol, which is part of SeaWorld’s 50th Celebration, which is just getting started.

At the end of the day – if you have any energy left – you’ll not want to miss the Shamu Dance Party. Located at the Village Square (at the front of the park), this party begins one hour before the park closes, and lasts a half hour after the park closes. A stilt-walking emcee will lead the crowd into popular line dances and other dance party favorites.

If you’d like to keep your kids busy on Saturdays, the “Just for Kids” Festival is the place to be. Save yourself a lot of money by purchasing an Annual Pass, which starts at just $13 per month. This is a great time to purchase the pass which will allow you and your family an opportunity to enjoy SeaWorld during this festival as well as the 50th celebration and all summer long. If you want to keep up on all the prizes and offers, the best way is to follow SeaWorld on Facebook. Be sure to enter to win a trip!

If you and your family are worn out by Saturday evening after visiting SeaWorld’s “Just for Kids” Festival, skip the Shamu Dance Party and head on down to Capone’s Dinner & Show. Sit down and watch the performers do all the dancing and feast on a great meal. The show is family-friendly and the kids will love the gangster shoot out. They may even win another prize!
