This article was first published in April 2014. Some information is still relevant, however, “Dine with Shamu” has been replaced with “Dine with Orcas.”  This dinner show currently features the care given to SeaWorld’s killer whales.

Dine with Shamu Orlando Dinner Show

The Dine With Shamu dinner show will be returning to SeaWorld next week. As explained in an earlier post, this Orlando dinner show was temporarily canceled due to the work being done on Shamu Stadium. Now that the renovations are nearly complete, the dinner show can be put back on the schedule. The whale shows are returning!

The killer whale show “One Ocean,” will return April 11, with rehearsals open to the public as early as this week. What a great opportunity to be able to observe the trainers working with these incredible creatures! This same type of opportunity was provided during the renovations when SeaWorld offered an Upclose with Shamu experience. The last day for this show will be Thursday, April 3. It was very well received, and many guests will miss it.

Trainers will also be preparing for another new show called “Shamu’s Celebration: Light Up the Night.” Beginning June 21, this show will highlight the beginning of SeaWorld’s Summer Nights. With the theme park’s 50th anniversary also going on, there will be plenty of fanfare this summer at SeaWorld.

Dine With Shamu is another great way to see how trainers interact with killer whales. However, it is not included in the price of admission. If you want to check out this type of Orlando dinner show, take advantage of the 10% off deal, being offered on April 12 and 13 (5:15 p.m.).  The cost for an adult pass-holder is $26.10, plus kids get to eat free with an adult meal purchase. After these special dates, the cost is currently set at $29 for adults and $19 for children age 3-9 (in addition to park admission). Prices may change, however, since the original price for this Orlando dinner show was $49/adult and $24/child.

A Whale of a Offer

If you are visiting Orlando and will be staying for several days, go see the whales. Then go to Capone’s Dinner & Show and get a whale-of-a-deal! Tickets can be purchased online at half price. Be sure to save a night for Capone’s. You’ll be glad you did!
