Breck's cookies are worth the trip to this Kissimmee restaurant.

This week’s Kissimmee Restaurant Feature highlights bakeries and restaurants in Kissimmee that promote their bakery cuisine. Some of these establishments only serve baked goods, others are full restaurants that include a well-known baked goods menu. If you’ve got a sweet tooth to satisfy, read on.

There are several chain restaurants in Kissimmee that feature baked goods. They include Perkins, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Walmart Bakery, Panera Bread and Starbucks. You’ll find they all have locations nearer the theme parks than some of the specialty bakeries in Kissimmee. These are fine if you don’t mind the chain-store atmosphere (read more about chain restaurants in Kissimmee at this previous post), however, if you’d like to venture out a bit, some great bakery restaurants in Kissimmee are waiting to ‘sweeten’ you up!

If you’d like some Caribbean with your baked goods, check out the Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery & Grill located at 1009 West Vine Street in Kissimmee, FL. You’ll find them in the Kissimmee Korners Shopping Center. They offer a wide variety of food as well as catering, and of course, baked breads, cakes and more.

Have a cookie monster in your family? Head to Breck’s Gourmet Cookies at 421 Broadway in downtown Kissimmee. They carry the best chocolate chip, white chocolate and blueberry, key lime pie (cookie), strawberry lemonade and oatmeal cookies around! While this Kissimmee restaurant may offer to mail/deliver your order, it is worth the trip to drive there and pick out your selections. Even folks that claim they are not big on sweets cannot resist the cookies at this bakery.

At 1111 East Vine Street in Kissimmee (corner of 192 & Nebraska) you’ll find the Kissimmee Bakery where some of the best bread around is baked. The prices are good and their Cuban and Pupusas get good reviews. If this Kissimmee restaurant location doesn’t meet your craving for Latin fare, head further east and north on Michigan Ave. to Sol De Borinquen Bakery. Work on your Spanish or bring along a bilingual friend! You’ll love the conversation and of course their cakes “para todas ocasiones.”  Further east on Boggy Creek Road, you’ll find Melao Bakery where you can find most any home-style Hispanic food you are craving. And yes, their desserts are simply melao!

On Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee restaurants featuring baked goods include Dolcissimo Cafe Inc., better known as Dolce Bakery and Cafe, and Cupcake Hearts (just off the parkway on Bill Beck Blvd.). Both of these Kissimmee restaurants feature quality cakes and desserts, however, Dolce also carries other food, while Cupcake Hearts specializes in wedding cakes and cakes for other occasions.

When Valentine’s Day rolls around, think about stopping in at one of these restaurants in Kissimmee and placing an order for a cake, cookies or other sweet dessert. They make great gifts. If you try hard enough, you can find a good reason any day to treat yourself to something sweet! Package your cake or cookie order with a Valentine’s VIP deal from Capone’s Dinner & Show and you’ll score points with the sweetheart in your life. Sweet dreams!
