Family Dining at Chain Restaurants in Kissimmee

Last week we covered most of the fast food restaurants in Kissimmee. This week we’ll focus on other chain restaurants that offer dining in within several cuisine choices. Many of these chains do offer burgers, fries, subs and chicken, however, they are not of the drive-thru-dining-in-your-car variety. The restaurants in Kissimmee we are featuring this week will require you to take a seat (or have a hostess seat you), place an order, and yes, converse with others at your table. Perhaps you’ve just spent the day at a local theme park. Now it’s time to enjoy one another’s conversation over a nice meal.

Beginning at one end of Hwy. 192 and traveling to the other, your choices for nationally recognized chain restaurants cover a wide variety. They include Applebee’s, LongHorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Texas Roadhouse, Sweet Tomato, Olive Garden and Miller’s Steakhouse. These are ALL located within Orange Lake Town Center! This busy center is located at Hwy. 192 and Toll Road 429. It’s very convenient for tourists leaving Walt Disney World. There are also a couple of Asian/Chinese restaurants in this center as well. Farther west is Houlihan’s, Denny’s (both west and east) and a few pizza joints (covered in another post).

Moving east along Hwy. 192 in search of restaurants in Kissimmee, you’ll discover other chain restaurants including Carrabba’s, Cracker Barrel, Bonefish Grill, Red Lobster, Clay Oven, IHOP, Sizzler, Ponderosa Steakhouse, Black Angus Steak House, Perkin’s, Bob Evans, Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, Charley’s Steak House, Joe’s Crab Shack, Boston Lobster Feast, Waffle House, Sizzlin’ Grill, Ruby Tuesday, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, T.G.I. Friday’s, and Smokey Bones. These Kissimmee restaurants can be found along 192 between 429 and 535. You sure do have a lot of choices!

From this point east towards the downtown Kissimmee area, the chain restaurants thin out and lesser known sit-down restaurants pick up. These restaurants in Kissimmee are covered in this post. The stretch from 535 in towards 17/92  does offer a couple of chains that can’t be found further west on Hwy. 192 in Kissimmee, including Outback Steakhouse, Golden Corral, Fat Boy’s Bar-B-Q and Great China Buffet.

As you can read, there are many chain restaurants located in Kissimmee if you are looking for a dine-in experience. These choices and more will be covered in greater detail in future posts covering the variety of cuisines offered. Depending upon how far you want to travel away from the tourist area, your choices are endless. The kids may want to put the iPods and games away, and enjoy dining with the adults at a nice restaurant in Kissimmee. Even if they pick the restaurant, everyone is sure to enjoy.
