The much anticipated opening of Legoland Florida’s water park is just a few days away. It will open to the public Saturday, May 26, 2012. Just in time for the big Memorial Day weekend. But did you know you can have a chance to preview it on Thursday for free? And help set a world record?

Admission to this new Central Florida water park is not included in regular admission. Guests will need to pay an extra $12 ($3 for children under 3 years) to include the water park option. If you have a premium-level annual pass ($179 for adults and $149 for child/senior), you will have seasonal access to the new water park. So how do you get in free this Thursday?

Guests must be at Legoland Florida’s main entrance at 9 a.m. Thursday. The first 400 guests will receive free admission plus a free T-shirt and most importantly – a beach ball. The Guinness World Record for “most beach balls in the air at one time” is currently at 400. Breaking the record should prove to be no problem. After the beach ball toss, guests will be allowed to stay in the water park (and the entire theme park) for the rest of the day!

This new Central Florida water park attraction includes:

  • Lego Wave Pool – Catch a gentle wave or simply cool off where the waves are just big enough for all ages to enjoy.
  • Build-A-Raft River – Families can imagine, design and build a unique Lego vessel and set afloat on a voyage around the 1000-foot-long lazy river, set amongst playful Lego Friends, flowering vegetation and palm trees.
  • Twin Chasers – Friends ride tubes 375 feet down an intertwining pair of enclosed water slides before plunging into a pool below.
  • Splash Out – The thrill seekers of the family can ascend to the tallest point of the water park attraction and choose from one of three unique slides, then speed down a 60-foot drop.
  • Joker Soaker – A fun, interactive playground with various lengths, heights and types of slides that offer something different for every member of the family. Guests can wade in the surrounding pool and be surprised with a torrential spill from a 300-gallon bucket.
  • Duplo Splash Safari – Toddlers rule at this water play area with shorter slides and interactive, larger-than-life creatures.
