June’s Grand Prize Winner at Capone’s Dinner & Show

Al and the gang wish to congratulate Cristy Miller for being June’s Grand Prize winner at Capone’s Dinner & Show Sunday, June 25th. During our “25 Years of Memories” anniversary celebration we’ll be giving some lucky stiff a grand prize on the 25th day of each month. Next month it could be you! The next grand prize will be awarded on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

Cristy, a.k.a. Chris (now that she is one of Al’s gals) came all the way from Pennsylvania just to see the show! Imagine that. What a dedicated broad! If Chris had been around during the Progressive Era, she would know that PA has quite a history with speakeasies. In fact, in the early 1920s, there were as many as 16,000 speakeasy establishments active during Prohibition. Known for their breweries, this part of our Nation didn’t give up easily on its giggle juice. If you’d like to read more about Chris’s home state during Prohibition, Annie Anderson has written an excellent article.

This was Chris’s first visit to our speakeasy dinner show. She discovered our joint by reading an advertisement. Glad it caught her attention! Hoping to earn her approval, the gang worked very hard, as they do each evening. Of course, the prize she won would have gotten anyone’s approval. At the end of the evening, thankfully, she gave us a thumbs up! She’s not the only one approving of our job here. Capone’s Dinner & Show has recently been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for the 7th year in a row by Trip Advisor. But more on that later…back to our June’s grand prize winner.

June’s Grand Prize Winner Experience

Chris’s favorite part of the evening was the show. The new show really is our best yet. Experience it yourself. You’ll feel like a true part of this prohibition era speakeasy as you dodge questions from a snooping Detective, watch dancing dames, hear smooth and exciting jazz vocals, and laugh at our quick-witted gangsters. Don’t be surprised if you become a part of the show!

The least favorite part of Chris’s experience was “nothing.” Nothin’! Zilch! Zippo! A big goose egg! Just the way we like it. From the time you enter the theater to the time you depart, our mob is trying to make your experience at our Orlando dinner show great in every way.

Chris’s prize was two and a half Cs in her pocket, plus a C note to spend in our very own gift shop. But wait, that’s not all. She also received 4 free tickets to Capone’s Dinner & Show! Now she can become a repeat offender and drag some other members of her gang in with her. You’d think she would spend her winnings on her return visit here, but no. She claims she is spending her winnings at some clip joint called Disney. Guess the mouse will be glad to hear that!

Again, we’d like to congratulate June’s grand prize winner, Cristy Miller. The gang at Capone’s Dinner & Show hopes that the evening’s experience was the cat’s meow and will be a great memory for years to come.

May’s Grand Prize Winner at Capone’s Dinner & Show

Al and the gang wish to congratulate Alex Luchen for being May’s Grand Prize Winner at Capone’s Dinner & Show Thursday, May 25th. During our “25 Years of Memories” anniversary celebration we’ll be giving some lucky stiff a grand prize on the 25th day of each month. Next month it could be you! The next grand prize will be awarded on Sunday, June 25, 2017.

Alex, a.k.a. Hairs Malonz (now that he is a ‘made’ man) came all the way from Olathe, Kansas just to see the show! Imagine that. What a dedicated family member! Knowing Olathe is home to Garmin headquarters, it’s no wonder Hairs Malonz found his way to our speakeasy. With our location being near all of the Orlando tourist hot spots, our joint is easy to navigate to.

Hairs Malonz has only attend our speakeasy once, so the wise guys and gals knew they had to make a great first impression. Boy did they ever! Yous sees, this mob (see photo below) had straight hair when they arrived, but laughed themselves into a full head of curls. Why else would he earn the gangster name of “Hairs Malonz?!”

“Hairs Malonz” was the big winner of May’s anniversary prize, seen here with one of his gals holding the prize.

May’s Grand Prize Winner Experience

Hairs Malonz’s favorite part of the show was the singin’ and the dancin’. Those beautiful dames sure can cut a rug. Our new show features some great choreography and dance moves that will knock your socks off. Many musical numbers have remained in our new show, but we’ve revived some old favorites and incorporated new tunes too. Yous should see the new show for yourself.

The least favorite part of Hairs Malonz’s experience didn’t have nothin’ to do with the new show, but everything to do with his fellow guests. Seems some of them couldn’t keep their yappers closed and were talking too much during the performance. While we do have a lot of interaction between our cast and guests, this ain’t no hash house. The chopper squad strongly advises being considerate of others. Keep in mind that cement shoes come custom-fit.

The Grand Prize

May’s grand prize winner prize was 2 admissions to Universal Studios, 2 tickets to Capone’s Dinner & Show, plus $100! You’d think he would use the “C” note to get the curls outta his hair. But knowin’ this high-hat, he’ll probably waste his prize on paying for part of his vacation. At least the extra tickets will come in useful. It’s always a blast to be a repeat offender. Going to Universal isn’t too bad either, and going with free tickets is even better. What a fun thing to do in Orlando!

Speaking of fun things to do, Hairs Malonz discovered our joint by seeing an ad in a coupon book. Those magazines are great for tourists and locals. These magazines contain information about attractions, restaurants and shopping. These coupons save our guests 50% off tickets, plus more. Our coupons include a special code that allows an additional discount or prize when purchasing tickets online. Pick up a copy, look for our ad and find some great bargains.

Again, we’d like to congratulate May’s grand prize winner, Alex Luchen. Capone’s Dinner & Show hopes that the evening’s experience was the cat’s meow and will be a great memory for years to come.

Favorites Revived in New Show at Capone’s

The new show at Capone’s is reviving some old guest favorites. When something is liked, it is nice to see it come around again. Unlike sweater vests, hair metal bands, velour tracksuits or mullet hair cuts, some things are pleasing to experience again. Such is the case with some of the ‘new’ features in Capone’s anniversary show.

More Audience Participation

Audience participation has always played a large role in the show. It is definitely a guest favorite. However, now there is more audience participation than ever before. Guests participate from the very beginning when they must say a secret password to enter the speakeasy. From that time on, until the evening’s end, participation escalates throughout the new show at Capone’s. Guests that welcome participation, seem to have the best experience of all.

In previous shows, mostly men from the audience were selected to ‘help out’ on stage. Now men, women and even children (seasonal) participate. While the cast has always handled nearly every situation with complete professionalism, their talent in this area is utilized now more than ever. Men and women are somewhat predictable, but kids? They do and say the darnedest things… and you can bet the wise guys and gals are prepared for it!

New Show at Capone’s Revives Old Song Favorite

Even some of the musical numbers have been revived from past shows. For example, check out the photo below from the early 1990’s. It features dancers performing the old “Cell Block Tango.” It has been revived from the very first show ever performed at this Orlando dinner show. Now this guest favorite is featured all over again in the new show at Capone’s. Wait until you see the new version!

New Show at Capone’s features old hit

“Cell Block Tango” is revived from this early 1990’s hit.

Repeat offenders (returning guests) know several of the songs that are performed nightly. Often songs get stuck in your noodle after attending the new show at Capone’s. Check out this recent guest comment:

“Happy Mother’s Day!! My seven-year-old has been entertaining me all day with endless choruses of ‘fuh-get about it!!’ ‘get atta here!!’ and of course her favorite, ‘I like-a yo’ spicy meatballs!!!’ Thank you so much [C. Y.] for inviting us [to Capone’s Dinner & Show]! We had the time of our lives.”

Return to ‘the family’ and Visit Capone’s Again

If you’ve already experienced Capone’s Dinner & Show any time over the past 25 years, it’s worth another visit. Many things come and go, and trends have a way of making their way around again. Wear your velour tracksuit if you must, but return home to ‘the family’ and see the new show at Capone’s. We promise, it will be very difficult to… “fuhget about it!”
