Tired of the same ol’ date night plans? Perhaps you are asking someone out for the first time and want to plan a memorable evening. Look no further than Leu Gardens! This Saturday (and the first Saturday of every month through December 3, 2011), enjoy a movie in their beautiful outdoor gardens while lounging on your own blanket or travel chairs. Pack a picnic and enjoy a dinner and show!

This Friday’s feature is the 1950 movie “Father of the Bride” starring Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett and Elizabeth Taylor. Enjoy this comedy film about a father trying to offer with the many disasters that happen, from the time his daughter is engaged until the wedding occurs. It is such a great story with so many common, and hilarious, situations – you and your date are sure to have more than a few laughs.

Garden admission is only $5 (plus tax) for date night when the gates open at 6:00 p.m. The movie starts at 8:30 p.m. allowing plenty of time for a romantic stroll prior to the movie. By arriving early, you’ll also have time to set up an elaborate picnic dinner – if you’re trying to impress. If you are a married couple with children, wishing for a unique date night, bring the children along! Admission for children is $2 (plus tax). Bring extra blankets and a pillow in case the little ones aren’t as entertained with the movie as you are.

It’s a great way to spend a Friday night in the garden or on a date. Admission is collected at the door, so don’t worry if your date cancels or plans have to change at the last minute. There is always next month…

If you aren’t planning to attend the movie at Leu Gardens, please consider attending Capone’s Dinner and Show. We’re open every day of the year and you won’t have to pack a picnic dinner or worry about seating. Our beautifully renovated theater is air conditioned and waiting for your arrival! A great “plan B” if you get rained out at the gardens, or want a unique second-date idea!
