Capone's wise guy swings a mean bat!Al’s wise guys love to get use of their baseball bats, and it’s a great time of the year to start swinging! Spring Training has returned, and we can head out to the ball park to catch our favorite team in training. If you’re an Astros or Braves fan, you’re in luck. The Braves train just up the road at Disney’s Wild World of Sports and the Astros are down the road the other direction from Capone’s at the Osceola County Stadium.

Most of the games are in the afternoon (1:00pm), just in time for lunch. (Brings an all new meaning to the term ‘dinner show’ doesn’t it?) In my opinion, there is nothing like a hot dog at the ball park. I rarely ever eat them anywhere else. I never crave them, but those dogs are the first thing I order when I go to a game – shortly followed by the peanuts (around the 7th inning). This type of dining in Orlando is not exactly my first choice of cuisine, but this American tradition is part of the entire Spring Training experience.

The Osceola County Stadium offers an all you can eat ticket for some of the games for $24 per person. It includes: 1 outfield reserve seat, hotdogs, popcorn, nachos, sodas and bottled water. Not bad! The Champion Club at Disney is a little more pricey ($90/individual), but ends up being a decent offer if you have 10 people in your group. It includes: a traditional ballpark-style buffet and limited beverages in a private, tented area on the 1st base patio. The buffet offers different food as the game progresses consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, pretzels, Cracker Jacks, cookies, brownies, popcorn, roasted peanuts, tea and lemonade. This group package includes ten reserved game tickets (game bleacher level). The cost starts at $750 (for 10 people).

Whether you go for the buffet packages or just a snack, most of the games are over early enough to take in another ‘hit’ later in the evening. That would be our very own Capone’s Dinner & Show. You can’t beat the price either; only $26.99 for adults and $16.99 for kids (after coupon or online). With our delicious buffet, the meager hot dog and peanuts at the park, will soon be replaced by a belly full of American/Italian cuisine, hot off the buffet. You don’t have to pay extra for drinks or dessert either! We also have an ‘home run’ offer for groups!

Catch a ball at the game and later have a ball at our show. Spring Training + Capone’s = an excellent Spring day in the Kissimmee/Orlando area. Let’s get swingin’ and play ball!

Capone’s was also named one of the top 5 restaurants to visit while in the area for Spring Training! Read the rest of the story.
